Senna Monument, Imola by TLO-Photography Senna Monument, Imola by TLO-Photography
In 1998 I visited Imola. At the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari there is a statue for Ayrton Senna.
The famous F1 driver died here in 1994.

This is scan from a 35mm film I found recently. Picture was taken with a Yashica AF-J2 with Fuji Super 200 film.

Those days we sat on the tip of our chair, excitement was what the F1 class was all about.....

I must confess, at some point (a few years ago) i almost fell asleep while watching an F1 race, it's not grabbing me anymore, the spirit is gone somehow....

I have watched F1 from 1997 (the final race of the season when Villeneuve won his only title and Mika Häkkinen with Mclaren took his first win), i've seen so many drivers come and go but whenever I look at races from Senna's era it was so different. for sure if Ayrton would have survived from 1994 Imola, the history of F1 would be much different. probably he would have won title 1994 and many other things still after that. I remember when saw his nephew Bruno driving in F1 first time and when forced to retire due to engine failure, when lifting his visor.. I almost cried when saw how much he looked like Ayrton on that moment. With Ayrton part of F1 changed forever. engines where made less powerful, race tracks less dangerous and safety improved a lot.

These days 2014 was just season I skipped a lot because Mercedes dominance. this season seems different but at least its not just one team winning everything instantly.

i suggest so, this season seems to be more interesting when Ferrari has fast cars to race Mercedes. also i noted up the young dutchman instantly when really got my attention on his scores in lower formula class races. I say he really reminds me about his father and so far very good score in Maleysia raised stocks.
