Well, i bought the Canon 5D from a professional photographer, who didn't use it that much because it was his back-up cam in case his other one failed.
Somehow i thought that he would have had it modified by Canon, because i knew about the mirrors falling out. Him being a pro made me think that a pro doesn't take risks with cameras and as soon as he heard about the issue have it fixed!
He didn't.
So, i was shooting in a horse riding school, and suddenly half of my image was black in the viewfinder. I looked surprised, and there the image was again. Strange. But after the next shot: KLING! A disturbing noise from the inside of the body, and no image in the viewfinder....... as soon as i took the lens of, the mirror fell in my hands.
This is an acknowledged problem, Canon fixes it free of charge if you send it to a selected repair station. They modify the construction and replace the mirror, and voila: ready to go!
Unfortunately this took 3 full weeks..... bleh. My new toy already gone for so long!!!
But it's back by now, so let's start shooting ff again!!!
Take care, take pictures!
Selling stuff
Since i have way too many cameras and lenses i decided to start selling them. First i used Catawiki auctions and Marktplaats.nl but somehow i was never happy with both.
At Catawiki you never know what you're gonna get, sometimes i got lucky but i also had to let perfect cams go for 3 euros! And marktplaats is just for the Dutch, and that's a way too tiny market to sell old gear nowadays.
I knew about Etsy for some time, but never thought about using it myself. So i asked around a bit and decided to start a shop!
And i must say: it's great! I've sold some nice items so i'll be putting up more (and more) over time!
Check it out here: https
As of today you can find me on FB as well!
Never had an account before, so it's all quite new to me. The main reason is that many photographic related stuff is on there, i was never able to comment under my own name because i then used my wife's account.
So: find me there if you like!!

Lomography Orca anyone?? (b/w 110 film)
Just recently i got interested in 110 film.
The reason is a Minolta Pocket Autopack 470 with a seperate flash unit. This camera is very different from all other 110 cameras. It is metered and automatically adjusts exposure ranging in shutterspeeds from 2 seconds to 1/1000 sec.! Besides that it has focus zones, a close-up lens and a real glass Rokkor lens.
Last but not least: it is really well made and feels like a camera instead of a plastic pocket cam. Closest come the metal Agfa models, but most of them only shoot one shutterspeed.
I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.
BUT!! Problem!!
Here it is: i planned on shooting it with the Lomogr
The Diana F+, a small test!
Yes! I bought one.................
Why? Good question!
Well, it was the complete DeLuxe set with just about every accessory you can buy except for the instant back. And it included quite a large amount of films, all at a reasonable price.
I always wondered how it would be to actually use one of these youngster hipster hype cams. So i did a little testrun with it, loaded with a Kodak T-max 400 film. ISO 400 is the best film for general use according to Lomography. The camera has only one shutterspeed, 1/60 sec. and 3 aperture settings, f/11 (cloudy) f/16 (partial cloudy) and f/22 (sunny). Yes that is dark! But you can mount a flas
